The community asked for traditional and charming buildings to fit Wayzata’s small-town image. Stahl built a new 17,000-SF library with spectacular views of Lake Minnetonka through mahogany-framed windows, and added 15,400 SF onto the current city hall and fire station. This was a signature project for the City of Wayzata, anchored by the library. High-end materials were specified, which required much care and attention to detail. There was little room for storage or staging of materials, and the City offices had to remain open and functioning throughout the entire construction process.
