This project invovled reconfiguring a nondescript big-box retail structure into an office building that represents the business culture and work quality of Stahl Construction.  The immediate architectural challenge was to create an open, light-filled office space from a windowless warehouse retail building.  This was accomplished by cutting large modular windows into the exterior walls that reinforced the regular articulation of the pilaster skin of the original structure.  An existing two-story highway-oriented entrance was removed and replaced with an inviting pedestrian-scaled entrance canopy surrounded by landscaping.

The finished product serves as an example of how and what can be done with vacant buildings as the economic conditions and demographics of a community change.
