Wayzata Community Church (WCC) hired Stahl to complete Phase I, a 49,000-SF addition and renovation consisting of a new 600-seat sanctuary with curved vaulted ceilings and cupola, kitchen, Fellowship Hall, library, and major renovations throughout the existing building.
In order to permit the congregation to hold Sunday worship services during construction, temporary walls and a temporary altar were built. Once the new sanctuary was completed, the congregation moved into the new space and the former sanctuary was renovated into the new Fellowship Hall. Throughout construction, WCC never missed a Sunday of Worship services.
The 42,000-SF, Phase-II education addition included a gymnasium, science room, music space, and a number of classrooms. Attention to detail was a must when considering the exterior brick, windows, doors, eve details and other components of the existing building to ensure that the new design and materials were consistent with those of the original early-1900s building. |
