Cathy Schmidt, LEED AP
President and Chief Executive Officer
As the President and CEO, Cathy excels in building organizations. She establishes a robust foundation, assembles the right team, develops and executes a strategic plan, and implements processes and systems that drive growth and significant changes. Throughout her career, Cathy has had the privilege of leading various organizations and associations. Each experience has built upon the last, with a constant aim to add value to everything she is involved in.
Cathy is a lifelong learner with a passion for continuous improvement. She holds a Marketing degree from Iowa State University and an MBA from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. Additionally, she is a LEED Accredited Professional.
Cathy is passionate about participating in organizations that have a significant impact. She has served on several Boards of Directors, including Feed My Starving Children, Greater Twin Cities Youth Symphonies, CoreNet Global Midwest, Greater Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, and Mount Olivet Lutheran Church of Plymouth. Currently, she serves as the Past Chair on the Iowa State University Alumni Association Board of Directors.
Cathy and Mark have been married over 30 years and love spending time with their family – daughter Caroline and son-in-law Preston and son Jonny. Traveling is their favorite thing to do, especially to national parks.
