During Phase II of the Hennepin County 625 Building renovation—a 79,800 SF upgrade across four floors—our team was called upon to solve a challenge that fell outside the original scope.
The county’s project manager approached Superintendent Brent Chrast with an urgent request: construct a structurally engineered wall in the auditorium to support 1,800 pounds of equipment for a new projection system—66 monitors in total. The catch? The AV company had a rare five-day window to install the system, or the next available slot would be more than two months out.
Without hesitation, Brent assembled a team and coordinated a walkthrough with subcontractors and the owner. An engineer was brought in to define the structural requirements, and Brent ensured decisions were made on the spot—materials were ordered immediately, and a lift was secured.

In just five days, the wall was built to specifications, meeting all structural and safety requirements. The result was flawless. The AV installation proceeded without delay, and the county was amazed by the speed, precision, and professionalism of the response.
This moment reinforced Stahl’s reputation as a trusted partner—one that not only delivers the required scope but steps up when the unexpected arises. It’s a testament to our commitment to collaboration, agility, and excellence in service to Hennepin County.
